House-himti7ig began in Febriuiry, butproved to be so difficult that in the end only one housecould be secured for the two families of Shelley andWilliams, and the remainder of the group gave up al-together the idea of removal. The place selected loasCasa Magni, now known as Casa Maccarini, on the Bayof Lerici near tlie little fishing-village of San Terenzo.To this hoiise, whose foundations were built in the verymidst of the waves, and zvhich, when storms raged andthe waters dashed against it, seemed quite as much boatas house, they removed in the last days of April, 1822.A third story has been added since the time of the SJielleysand a modern road now passesin front, but the arrange-ment of the interior is quite unaltered.
