English: Winter moorland scene near Moorside. This photograph shows a typical winter moorland scene within Grid Square NZ6710. Moorside is portrayed in the foreground of the picture. Moorside cottages lie just to the right-hand side (see here 28986). In the distance, on the horizon, Three Howes Rigg can be seen (to the left). Just below the horizon, viewers with good eyesight will see the 'moors road' running from left (from the A171) to right (towards Castleton). Haw Rigg lies on the right-hand side of the horizon above the road. In the right-hand side of the picture, above the cottages, the public bridleway that leads to Box Hall and Castleton can be seen bending around to the right. |
