Summary
[edit]DescriptionWinter Snowfall in Haviland Road - geograph.org.uk - 648900.jpg |
English: Winter Snowfall in Haviland Road Looking roughly west towards the junction with Ashley road is a scene in 1995 that is all too rare these days, when there was a significant fall of snow in Bournemouth. The former artisan cottages on the right of the street were first built in 1878, during a period of rapid growth in what was then the new Spa town of Boscombe. Also on the right before the terrace of cottages is the entrance gate to the Bournemouth Centre for Community Arts. Thousands of pounds have been spent on updating the Centre, yet in 2007 it was announced that it was to close, being too costly to maintain. It is currently awaiting a decision on its future after its pending demolition. |
