Description
English: Winson Cross, by Winson Farm, Chittlehampton. Erected by Denys Rolle (1725–1797) of nearby Hudscott House, Chittlehampton, lord of the manor of Chittlehampton. Extensively repaired in the 1960s. In imitation of ancient way-marking crosses were used to mark sacred spots before churches were built.
