English: Windthrow, Harehope Forest. An expensive problem in a commercial plantation, once the wind gets in, the shallow rooted trees that have grown up in each other's shelter soon fall over. A dangerous job clearing a mess like this, as the fallen trees are often in tension, explosively released when a tree is cut. The root plates are also a hazard. |
