Windtech in Tehachapi, California.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Windtech turbine being serviced in the Tehachapi Pass in April 1984. This was part of a small cluster of four wind turbines off Tehachapi-Willow Springs Rd. The Windtech wind turbine used the Composite Bearingless Rotor developed by Kip Cheney and Petrus Spierings at UTRC in the mid 1970s. These were removed within a few years and replaced with Windmatics.
