| Description |
English: Window of stable block, Kirklees Home Farm, Clifton This is a ground floor window on the side of the stable block. The stables were of course on the ground floor with storage for hay on the first floor and accommodation for the stable-boys in the attic. The window is similar to that of a 17C house except that the mullions are closer together, presumably because the openings were not glazed. The datestone for the building '1620' is in an unusual place at the left end of the drip-mould, which continues to the corner of the building rather than ending at the right-hand side of the window. |
