| Description |
English: Window of mill building, Meltham The building was presumably the office of Brook's Dye Works, which is captioned 'Shoddy Mill' on the six-inch map of the 1960s, but the premises now have signs for Northern Dyers and the David Brown Tractors Club Ltd Archive and Museum Centre. I should think that Edwin Brook was a member of the family that owned the silk mills at Meltham Mills. I wonder if the middle line has been off-centre ever since the stained glass was installed. |
