Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Window and logo on the former Bank of Liverpool. Underneath this window the logo of the former Bank of Liverpool Limited is carved into the woodwork. The design incorporates the Liver Bird in the centre. The building was designed by Chester's famous architect John Douglas and was erected in 1897. The Bank of Liverpool acquired Martin's Bank in 1918 and the outline of that name is still visible behind the Soletrader name. Martins was bought by Barclays in 1969 and this branch was eventually closed. In 2008 the building is occupied by the shoe shop Soletrader. See also 816659
