Summary
[edit]DescriptionWilson Carlile Training College 035.jpg | South elevation of former dormitory block of Wilson Carlile Training College, Blackheath, London, England; now Blackheath High School. Built 1965. The original white brick is now painted white, and the metal windows have been replaced with plastic. However the black slate panels between the windows and the black slate sills are still there. Photographed through glass. This was part of the same build designed by E.T. Spashett for Austin Vernon & Partners, which included the Church Army Chapel, Blackheath. If this 2009 image is compared with the 1964 image of the same south elevation File:Wilson Carlile Training College 1964.jpg, it will be seen that the current white plastic windows are not in sympathy with the original design, where the black window-frames created a bold, black and white striped building. |
