Description The riparian habitat on Seeskadee NWR provides spring and fall migratory habitat for many species of warblers. Fall migration for warblers begins in mid August and continues through September. Thousands of Wilson's warblers spend weeks feeding on insects in narrowleaf cottonwood, willow, and as in this picture Serviceberry. This allows them to gain the necessary fat reserves to continue their migration southward. Warbler migration goes little noticed by most. The small and secretive birds spend their days in the heavy riparian vegetation, making them difficult to observe. Sitting quietly with a pair of binoculars will reveal the secret world of warblers here. Photo: Tom Koerner/USFWS
