English: "Orleans Alley". 1907 painting by William Woodward showing scene in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Oil stick on paper; 23 1/8 x 29 1/8 in View is from behind and uptown of the Cathedral looking towards Royal Street, on what was then officially known as "Orleans Alley"; the short street has since been officially renamed after a the long locally popular nickname "Pirates' Alley".
