Son of the House Steward to Mrs Lawrence of Studley Royal, Frith was born in Aldfield on the 9th January 1819 and lived here from 1819 until 1826, when the family left to manage the Dragon Hotel, Harrogate. Frith left for London in 1835 'to make my fortune'." |
