Published by the Associated Cartoon Service. Artwork by Edwin F. Brotze.William Pigott (1860-?) was born in New York City to Irish immigrants. He grew up in Hubbard, Ohio. In 1895 he moved to Seattle and worked with William D. Hofius in the sale of iron and steel products. He also invested in development operations in Alaska. In 1904, he he organized the Seattle Steel Company, which later merged with the Pacific Coast Steel Company. In 1905 he started the Seattle Car Manufacturing Company, which later became the Seattle Car & Foundry Company. |
