Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-CA), left, and Bill “Irish” Driscoll, right, present a certificate of reenlistment to Chief Operations Specialist Jack Thorpe aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Cunningham and Driscoll became the first Naval Aviators to qualify as Aces in the Vietnam War when they shot down five North Vietnamese Migs between Jan. and May 1972. Cunningham became one of the most highly decorated U.S. Navy pilots in the Vietnam War.
