Full text: Photograph of the William Garland residence at Eighth Street and Westlake Avenue, ca.1880-1910. The ornate two-story house has a round tower at left and a steep gable at left. Three chimneys are visible above the roof. A balcony runs around most of the front of the house over a porch supported with arches. Trees and plants cluster in the grassy lawn behind a low stone wall. A broad walk with two landings lead up to the front. A stone at the curb line reads "Garland.; Streetscape. Horizontal photography.
