Description
English: A portrait of family, probably that of Richard Streatfeild (1611–1676), his wife Ann, and three of their children. The fact that Ann is pointing to a naked child, the cherries held by the youngest child, and the skulls piled up on a broken pedestal may allude to the death of some of the Streatfeild's children in infancy. The work was unfinished at the time of Dobson's death, and portions of it (especially the two children on the left) appear to have been completed by another person.
