Object history Acquired, and probably commissioned, from Blake by Thomas Butts, in 1799; by inheritance in 1845 to Thomas Butts, Jr.; Francis Turner Palgrave by 1863; Edward W. Hooper by 1880; bequeathed in 1901 by Hooper to his daughter Mrs. John Briggs Potter; her daughter Mrs. John B. Swann, sold to John Howell Books in 1975; sold 1977 to the husband of Elaine Klemen for presentation to her in 1977.
