Description |
Porträt des Willem van Overbeke (Guillaume d'Overbeke) [Ausschnitt] († 13. Februar 1529), Sekretär des Großen Rates von Mechelen (franz. Malines), 1474 Sekretär des Burgunderherzogs Karls des Kühnen und 1496 von dessen Enkel Philipps des Schönen. Nach der Inschrift des Grabmals seines gleichnamigen Enkels auch Gesandter Karls des Kühnen bei König Ferdinand von Aragón. Er heiratete am 5. Februar 1478 Johanna de Keysere (Jeanne de Keysere) († 5. Juli 1517). Gegen Ende der 1480er Jahre beauftragten Willem van Overbeke und seine Frau Johanna de Keysere einen unbekannten Künstler, das in ihrem Besitz befindliche, etwa ein Jahrzehnt (c. 1479) zuvor entstandene Marienbild des Hugo van der Goes zu einem kleinen Klappaltar mit ihren Porträts zu erweitern.
