Description
English: This true-color image of Major Hurricane Willa was captured during the early morning hours on October 22, 2018, at 8:45 A.M. MDT (14:45 UTC), by the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) instrument flying aboard NOAA's GOES-16 satellite. Willa was a formidable tropical cyclone that originated from a tropical disturbance off the coast of Mexico in late October 2018 during the 2018 Pacific hurricane season. At the time this was captured, Willa was at its peak intensity, closing in on the west coast of Mexico with winds of 160 mph (260 km/h) (140 knots) on the 1-min SSHWS making it a Category 5 Major hurricane on that scale and at the time it had a minimum central pressure of 928 mbar (27.4 inHg).
