Object type painting

Description
The experts at Bruun Rasmussen had trouble reading the inscription. At Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen there is a somewhat similar painting, described as a study for this work. It has horses, a cart and some people, but the layout is entirely different. The experts at the Museum saw it as a work based on Ludvig Holberg's play Kilderejsen, although Marstrand for that purpose normally dressed his characters as in Holberg's days, and not - as here - in contemporary (1830) dress.
