Description
The poorhouse of Odense, situated in a renaissance former merchant house in Odense. The poorhouse was located here from 1804 until 1847 when it moved to new buildings. On the first floor there was a classroom for poor pupils, and Hans Christian Andersen was among them. The house was situated in Overgade 19 and part of it has survived.
