| Description |
English: Wildlife Pond. Winterton Dunes is a dune system of 108 hectares. It is unusual because of its ecological similarities to the dune systems of the Baltic: the sand dunes are interspersed by peaty areas, where heather and reindeer moss can be found growing in abundance. This pond is surrounded by peaty soil and it contains soft brown (peaty) water. A more distant view of this pond can be seen here 581101 |
