Description
English: A calm Yadkin River reflects the historic Wil-Cox Bridge, which was built in 1922 and carries U.S. 29/70 South. As part of phase one of the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project in Davidson and Rowan counties, crews will chip out the old, deteriorating concrete and replace it with new concrete. The yellow platform on the side of the bridge allows crews to do that kind of work over the water with great precision. When phase one of the project is complete, NCDOT will turn ownership of the Wil-Cox Bridge over to Davidson County, and it will become a pedestrian bridge.
