Description
English: Cracked concrete and exposed areas are commonly found along the Wil-Cox Bridge, which was built over the Yadkin River in 1922. For these reasons, NCDOT closed the bridge to traffic in 2010. Crews are currently repairing the aging bridge as part of phase one of the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project in Davidson and Rowan counties. Upon completion, the department will turn ownership of the bridge over to Davidson County for use as a pedestrian bridge.
