Description
English: Wightbus 5803 (HW54 DCU), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2, in Briddlesford Road at Wootton Common, Wootton, Isle of Wight, on route 33A. Route 33A is a variation of route 33, which started on Monday 6 September 2010, to partially replace route 29 which had been withdrawn with the 5 September 2010 (the last day was Saturday 4 September) timetable changes. It runs from Ryde to Havenstreet as per the 33, but then continues to Wootton (like the 29 did), going around the estate (rather than running to Newport via Robin Hill and Blackwater as per the main 33). Unlike the 29, which then deviated via Whippingham and the Folly Inn before heading to Newport, route 33A runs straight to Newport from Wootton. This is because that section of the 29 had been replaced by new route 25 (Newport - Folly Inn - Whippingham - East Cowes). Route 33A only has one journey in each direction a day, so the residents of the estate at Wootton have a reduced service compared to that of the 29. This photograph was taken on the third day of the new route.
