| Description |
English: Wigan North Western station - new platform buildings Erected in the early 1970s as part of the Crewe-Glasgow electrification and modernisation scheme, this structure (with a mirror image on the other island platform) was also used at Warrington Bank Quay. Elements of the design were also used where possible at other locations. Utilitarian in concept, the design has not worn as well as the later design used at Wigan Wallgate. |
