Deutsch: Südostansicht des ehemaligen internationalen Pressezentrums (IPZ) bzw. APA-Hochhauses an der Adresse Gunoldstraße 14 im 19. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Döbling. Das 13-stöckige Bürohochhaus wurde als internationales Pressezentrum (Sitz der Austria Presse Agentur (APA) und weiterer Agenturen) nach Plänen von Kurt Hlaweniczka ab 1968 errichtet und am 16. September 1970 seiner Bestimmung übergeben. Nach der Absiedelung der APA in die Laimgrubengasse im September 2005 stand das Hochhaus leer. Ursprünglich war die Bundesländer-Versicherung Eigentümer des Hauses, die später in der UNIQA aufgegangen ist. Diese verkaufte Ende 2012/Anfang 2013 um 8,2 Mio. Euro das Gebäude mit rund 6.000 Quadratmetern Nutzfläche an eine Gesellschaft um den bekannten Architekten Heinz Neumann. Diese verkauften es wiederum 2018 an die Bauträger Austria Immobilien GmbH (BAI), die seit 2017 zur Signa-Gruppe des Immo-Investors Rene Benko gehört. 2019/2020 begann man mit den Vorarbeiten zur Schleifung des mit Asbest kontaminierten Gebäudes. Weil am Haus ost- und nordseitig groß der Schriftzug des KURIER angebracht war, wurde es häufig mit der KURIER-Redaktion verwechselt. Das war aber nur eine Werbung zum Ärger des in unmittelbarer Nähe und nordöstlich residierenden größten Konkurrenten, der Kronen Zeitung. |
