Deutsch: Das Mozartdenkmal im Burggarten im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt.
Das 7,5 Meter hohe Monument wurde von dem Architekten Karl König und dem Bildhauer Viktor Tilgner geschaffen und am 21. April 1896 auf dem Albrechtsplatz (heute Albertinaplatz) enthüllt. Nach dem II. Weltkrieg und Wiederinstandsetzung wurde es 1953 im Burggarten aufgestellt. Dargestellt ist der Komponist mit Notenpult auf einem Sockel, der mit Ornamenten, Masken und Kränzen geschmückt ist und von einer halbkreisförmigen Balustrade aus grobem Sterzinger Marmor (Südtirol) umrahmt wird. Auf dem vorderen Flachrelief ist die Einladung und das Erscheinen des Steinernen Gastes aus der Oper „Don Giovanni“ dargestellt und auf dem rückseitigen Hochrelief der sechsjährige Komponist am Klavier, sein Vater mit der Geige und seine Schwester Nannerl. |
