Summary
[edit]DescriptionWick quarry - geograph.org.uk - 355842.jpg |
English: Wick quarry A view looking to the northeast from Rock Road across the quarry workings at Wick. The quarry lies on the outskirts of the village on the edge of the Cotswold Hills. The quarry produces limestone aggregates. Over 450,000 tonnes of stone is crushed each year and used for road construction and concrete products like floor beams for house construction. The quarry is operated by CEMEX, formerly known as RMC Aggregates and employs over 70 staff.
The village of Doynton can be seen in the middle distance, with the ridge of the lower Cotswolds forming the horizon. |
