Description
English: Whorl Hill Wood A long range shot taken from Cringle Moor and showing quite clearly the lettering EIIR produced by the foresters when they planted the wood in 1953 to mark the Queen's Coronation. Not being a tree expert I would guess the letters were planted with spruce against larch for the rest of the wood.
