Afterwardssang complete French rep. andmodern works in Brussels, Marseilles,Vichy, Bordeaux, Nice and other im-portant cities in France and Belgium.Sang afterwards at Theatre des FoliesDramatiques, Paris, creating import-ant roles in Miss Trompette and Mrs.Marlborough. While thus engagedwas heard by Oscar Hammerstein, atthat time dir. Manhattan Opera co.,New York, and was engaged to appearat Manhattan O. H, New York, in firstseason of comic opera. Sang in NewOrleans with French Opera co., 1909-10,in roles in Faust, Manon, Carmen,Lakme, Traviata, Pagliacci, CavalleriaRusticana, etc., including first presen-tation of Le Jongler du Notre Dame,and in Hansel and Gretel. At close ofseason in New Orleans went on tourwith co. through U. S. and Canada.Had the distinction of singing Manonin spec, audience before PresidentTaft, Created title role in English of 64
