[edit]DescriptionWho's at the Bird Feeder? Black-capped chickadee (6260811026).jpg |
This black-capped chickadee is feeding on a high-energy suet cake. Chickadees are notable for their capacity to lower their body temperature during cold winter nights, as well as their good spatial memory to relocate the caches where they store food. Chickadees have also been know to be so bold as to feed from your hand! Photo Credit: Jennifer Jewett/USFWS |
