Description
English: "Whiteway, seat of the Yardes", watercolour by Reverend John Swete (died 1821) dated 10 July 1795 of Whiteway in the parish of Kingsteignton, Devon. Devon Record Office: DRO 564M/F8/119. Swete's mother was a member of the Yarde family of Whiteway. A Domesday Book manor, today a farmhouse known as Whiteway Barton. Not to be confused with Whiteway House in the parish of Chudleigh, 4 3/4 miles to the north, a former seat of the Parker family of Saltram.
