Description
English: First train to White Pass on the first stage of the White Pass and Yukon Route railway, February 1899. The railway was build for the Klondike gold rush, but came to late for the height of the migration. (Apparently the train has stopped for the photo, notice the people behind it.)

Author Eric A. Hegg, 1867-1948. (The title "W&S" could be Webster & Stevens, who ran a photo-library advertising photographs for newspapers in Seattle, constituting publication under later US copyight law.)
