English: (L-R) Joe St. Clair, Fran Peterson, Maury Tripp, and Bela H. Banathy at a the White Stag Leadership Development Program Indaba held at Fort Ord during November, 1962. These four men were instrumental in developing the experimental Wood Badge course #25-2, held at Fort Ord, California, in January and February 1968. This course was a pilot test of the new Wood Badge program that marked the shift from teaching Scoutcraft skills to leadership skills. These four men, along with Paul Ferenc Sujan, were instrumental in growing the White Stag Leadership Development Program that Banathy founded in 1958, from which the Wood Badge leadership skills were adapted. |
