Description
English: Sign from a now-closed motel at 81st Street and Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS
  • Flickr: "My mother-in-law says that this motel has been around since her childhood in the 50's. At that time it was on the "edge" of town."
  • According to The Pitch (newspaper}, the White Haven Motor Lodge was sold in 2008; the Johnson County [Kansas] Museum purchased this sign for $5,500 at an auction. The Pitch also reported the family-owned motel had been in business for 53 years.
