Animal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 40-76 cm; Weight: 1.3-5 kg; Identification: The white-tailed jackrabbit has gray-brown fur, a white tail, a slender body, and long pointed ears that are held erect; Habitat: Dry grasslands; Diet: Herbivore: grasses, grain, crops, young trees; Reproduction: Jackrabbits breed throughout the year, with multiple litters being very common. The gestation period lasts 42 days, which ends with the birth of 3-6 young. The average litter size is four; Social Structure: There is little social interaction between individuals; Behavior: The white-tailed jackrabbit is nocturnal.
