Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Whitacre Junction Station
Cross-country service DMU travels past redundant platforms en-route from Nuneaton to Birmingham New Street. Whitacre Junction station was once quite a busy station, being at intersection of Midland Railway routes (north/south) between Tamworth, Kingsbury, Coleshill and Hampton in Arden, and (east/west) Birmingham to Nuneaton.

The now defunct section between here and Hampton in Arden can be seen to right of island platform. Just beyond the train, on the left, is the line that still runs north to rejoin the alternative route from Water Orton to Tamworth, just south of Kingsbury.

Hams Hall Power Station is behind the camera to the left.
