Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Whernside shelter, trig point, and pond. The summit walls of Whernside were redesigned in the year 2000 as 'Whernside Millennium Viewpoint', which was officially opened on the 20th September 2000. This shelter faces north, whilst the one on the other side of the wall faces south. A plaque attached to the trig point commemorates the reconstruction - see 745543 The trig point is behind the shelter wall and Ingleborough can be seen above the pond. The footpath along the summit, which is also the Yorkshire Three Peaks route, runs along the other side of the wall. See also 745504 and 745519 for similar views in the snow.
