Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Where's the water? Until 1988 you would have been swimming here, as this floodbank marks the original course of the Aire & Calder navigation until the banks burst and flooded the St. Aidan's opencast mine. The tarmac of the former towpath can be seen between the bank and hedgerow toward the right of the picture, though most of it is covered by snow. Ferrybridge power station on the horizon.
