Uncle Sam's Postal Inspectors Putting A Stop Fraudulent Cure-Alls. A Clerk in the United States Post Office shown with the so-called “Oxypathor” which is the subject of a fraud order. This nickel-plated gas pipe, filled with sand, clay, or charcoal and having flexible cord attached, was sold as a cure for Asiatic cholera, meningitis, rheumatism, and every other human ailment, it was manufactured at a cost of $1.23 and sold for $35.00. Hundreds of thousands of them being marketed in India, Spain, and America. July 23, 1929.
