Description This photograph shows the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey together with the American Congressional Medal of Honour. In October 1921 the Unknown Warrior was posthumously awarded the Medal by an act of the American Congress, the following month the British Government awarded the Victoria Cross to the American Unknown Warrior interred at Arlington Cemetery. Over the years since, the Unknown Warrior has become the Unknown Soldier.
