Summary
[edit]DescriptionWestern Tuya.jpg |
English: Thuja belongs to a large family of cypress and is one of the most prominent representatives of the subfamily of thuja. In total, there are five species of this plant that grow in different parts of the world, mainly in North America, Japan, Korea and China. We are talking about the Western, giant, Eastern, Korean and, respectively, Japanese TUI.
They are found in the form of trees and shrubs. A characteristic feature of the species-flat branches, which are located on the needles, resembling the shape of scales. If the plant is young, the needles have the outlines of needles. The fruits of thuja ripen closer to autumn and are small, slightly oblong cones covered with 3-6 pairs of small scales. Under them are hidden seeds, also oblong and strongly flattened, almost flat. With their help, the plant is propagated, although cuttings and grafting are also allowed. In the climate of the middle zone of Russia, the most widespread is the Western thuja, which is able to withstand the temperature drop characteristic of this zoneEnglish: Western Tuya |
