Description
English: West face of the ruined Ash Barn, late evening. This is Ash Barn, (1884 map names the barn as Hask Barn [1]) or what's left of it. It stands alongside the road from Bollitree to Bromsash. At one time it was roofed with pan tiles. No colour enhancement needed as the setting sun warms the old red sandstone. A picture of the barn with the gable end still complete can be seen in Fred Druce's book of old photographs, 'The Light of Other Days, Country Life Around Ross 1870-1940.'
