Summary
[edit]DescriptionWest Kirby 1st railway station (site), Wirral (geograph 6015092).jpg |
English: West Kirby 1st railway station (site), Wirral Opened in 1878 by the Hoylake and Birkenhead Rail and Tramway Company, later part of the Wirral Railway, as the terminus of its extension from Hoylake. This single platform station closed in 1896 when it was replaced by the current West Kirby station, a few metres to the west. View north towards the site of the end of the line and platform. After many years as part of the goods yard, all trace has now gone due to site being redeveloped. The current West Kirby station is just out of shot to the left. |
