Summary
[edit]DescriptionWest's Block (Portland, Oregon) - central arched entry and door.jpg |
The historic West's Block building, at SE Grand Avenue & Alder Street in Portland, Oregon, is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Although the building was completed in 1883, its main (Grand Avenue) façade was altered several times, according to the NRHP nomination form, and this arched entry – in the center of the main façade – was constructed in the 1960s or 1970s, using parts from the Cook's Block, a similar-vintage building that was demolished in 1965. One of the current occupants of the West's Block is the Architectural Heritage Center of Portland (note signs in windows).
