| Description |
English: Wessenden Valley, Marsden. This is a view over Rams Clough with Blakeley Reservoir (SE0509) in the background. The reservoirs in the valley were built to supply Huddersfield, and the first one was Wessenden (Old) Reservoir, constructed some time after 1837. Wessenden Head reservoir was completed in 1881, Blakeley Reservoir in 1901 and Butterley Reservoir in 1906, delayed due to leaks caused by the steeply dipping rock strata.
