Summary
[edit]DescriptionWelland arial - 1930.jpg |
English: Aerial view of Welland - 1930. The race-track area on the left is the old fair grounds (now a townhouse development). The closer vertical lift bridge is Bridge 14 (Lincoln Street - now replaced with a fixed concrete span). The more distant vertical lift bridge is Bridge 13 (Main Street - still exists). Just before bridge 13 is the Alexandra Bridge which was moved from Main Street to Division Street to allow room for the construction of Bridge 13. Also visible in this picture is the aqueduct from the third canal (the narrow area just beyond Bridge 13), which was removed soon after the picture was taken. |
