Summary
[edit]DescriptionWelbourne Centre - Series of eight photoblogs.jpg |
English: 1 May 2008. Election Day for the Mayor of London and London Assembly. The Welbourne Centre (left) was rented for the day as a local polling station. Photo from Chesnut Road, Tottenham N17.
════════════════════════════ On 24 September 2008 the Standards Board for England reported on a complaint the Board received on 10 March 2008 about Haringey councillor Charles Adje. This concerned a Haringey Council document about the Welbourne Centre. A summary was available on the Standards Board website. (Standards Board for England: case no. SBE21513.08). I made a copy of the summary and circulated it at the time. I also posted the summary here. The full report was not made publicly available. Which illustrates how the Standards Board for England - since abolished - made its own unique contribution to undermining public confidence in local democracy. This is Part One of a series of postings during 2008/09 each added as I tried to uncover facts behind this and make them public. At the time I was one of the three elected Haringey councillors for Tottenham Hale ward in which the Welbourne Centre was situated.
